I was on a bus yesterday, don't laugh I've done it before, it was a 97 into town.
It always amazes me what one can see when looking out of a bus window that there isn't time to notice when driving.
For instance, The Bird's Custard Factory. Very nice ornate brickwork with Bird's name in relief, then higher up is the name of the building, Devonshire Works, also in relief, then above that is some scroll work all finally topped by a tiled picture of a sailing ship.
How right it looked then, that two very large gulls had decided the ledge above the ship was the perfect spot on which to perch.
