I'm back, I told you I wouldn't be out late. The trouble with dining out when you can't drink is that you don't want to hang about. If the wife ensures that I'm miserable by only letting me have one drink. Then she has got to be miserable as well.

I know I moan about her, but I would moan a lot more without her. She goes into hospital Friday for an operation on her hand. They will do the one hand this time and another later. They wanted to cut her thumbs off because she has no use of them, but she wouldn't let them so now they are going to fix them in a rigid position.

Don't worry about her, how is she going to look after me with her hands in bandages. The next thing you know is she will be back in a wheelchair and expect me to push her.
