Yep, all ready for a busy day after an easy weekend.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Good morning all
and what a good morning it is, I think I will take one of my bi-yearly visits to the hairdressers today. If you want to talk about inflation what about the price of a haircut 5700% in 50 years or 3/6 to £10 I cant think of anything else that has increased by that much not even alcohol or tobacco.

Mike
How do you work that out, from the time I'm talking about when I was 16 thats when I used to pay 3/6d for a haircut, a pint of mild was 1/4d and a pint of bitter was 1/5d. I have no idea what it costs now but I'll take a guess at £3. So thats an increase of just over 1700% nowhere near the increase in the cost of a haircut.
Phil
You are right, I admit, though only a bit more. I was thinking of bitter at 1/8, which is about half he price of your haircut and is now (down here) about £3.60, which i think makes it 4000%

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that we are being ripped off by everybody for everything. We picked the great grandson up from school today and he came out clutching a class photo for his mother. She always gives us copies of any photo like this, I was gobsmacked to see just how much it cost for one group photo they want £10 and for one photo on a disk they want £20.
How can they justify these charges, I think it's disgusting. Don't tell me that a photographer can earn between £300 and £600 for one photo. The school or the Education Dept must be on a kickback
