Good morning John, I have just passed the old Adelphi Cinema (now a Sikh Temple) on the Coventry Road
Small Heath this are has always been Bloody Horrible.

SB used to take all my girlfriends there in the 60's.

Did you get a free box of flea powder ?

It was quite a decent cinema then, the Grange was the fleapit, followed by the Tivoli, and then the Coronet, the Kingsway wasn't too bad.

Used to go to The Saturday Matinees at The Tivoli. The place usedf to be full.
Where was the Grange John I didn't know that one.

Just a bit further up the Cov, from the Coronet same side going towards town, corner of Grange Rd., opposite Jenkins St.

The Grange came up in one of Phil's "Where is it" a while back, it was mentioned in an advert on the side of a shop.
It would appear that there were a lot of cinemas on the Coventry Road.
Perhaps we could compile a list starting with the one furthest from town but still in our area. Would that be the Sheldon?
