Yeah
I was a member of the Heartbeat as well I had the little passport with the photo. It didn't work with the Heartbeat in Bristol though as far as I can remember. I'm sure I had to join again down there, anyway the Bamboo club in Clifton was better. Any Comments on that Mike, did you ever get in there?

I only went to the Heartbeat a few times, there were never many people there Maybe why it disappeared.

It did get pretty crowded at times, but I think it wasn't the sort of nightclub that us Brummies were used to a clean spick & span nightclub was a new concept to us, Anyway I liked uncrowded places it was easier to get to the bar.

SB..i was surprised to read that mothers was only going for 3 years...blimey the way its talked about on different forums i thought it had been going for yonks...they certainly packed a lot into those 3 years...

Yes three years in that time as I have said before America's Billboard magazine voted it the best rock venue in the world.
It closed because the lease ran out.
