Just a few more photos of the bottom end of New Street before we move on to the junction of Corporation St & Stephenson Place. Here we have the Big top site at the junction of New St & High St, followed by C & A's shop at the bottom of King Edward House, then we have Littlewoods store and on the other side of the road is Marshall & Snelgrove's department store which was later converted to a hotel.

Taking a look to the left down Stephenson Place, this is the sight we might see depending on what year it was.

I think its time for a look around Victoria Square and check out some of the buildings that appeared and disappeared during the last century.

A few more photos to go with the previous post. If you are not sure of the building, just run your mouse over the thumbnail photo and it will give a short description. If you are still not sure just ask and I will try to answer.

So after reaching Victoria Square we had 5 other streets we could take not counting New Street that we have just walked up. Paradise St, Colemore Row, Congreve St, Hill St, and Waterloo St.

From Victoria Square we can peek down Hill St as far as Navigation St and depending when it was this is what we would see.

Anne St was Colmore Row before the Council House was built.

Strictly speaking you afeonly half right Phil, as it was only the west end of Colmore Row up to Bennetts hill as can be seen by the 1839 map
