I'm only making the association between pancakes and Shrove Tuesday to highlight the fact that many of the shoppers planning to celebrate this religeous event will also be stuffing their faces as usual, both before and after. As I understand it the pancakes are supposed to represent the last few crumbs of food left in the pantry before starving (to death) for the next 40 days.

Personally I don't mind when I eat them, if ever, I'm not all that partial to them, I'd rather make Yourshire puds.

I wasn't aware that pancakes were such an old recipe though. Were the ancients tossers or turners I wonder?

really enjoyed my friends 60th party last night....i met her other 5 brothers and sisters who i had not seen for about 45 years...plenty of talking and hugging and dancing the night away to 60s music...my knees are hurting now and ive had a headache all day because of how loud it was but who cares...best night out ive for i dont know how long
