Yes this has long been my thoughts, paper bags should be used, the plastic blowing about also is a danger to wildlife.

I recycle all the plastic ones by using them as doggy doos bags[Be British]

Hi DEn
At least you're not buying plastic bags, for the Dog Issues.

Another one for you.......I booked an appointment to have a special test on my eyes for diabetics.

They rang me back to say my GP has no trace of me being Diabetic.........????

However they have found me on the national register...

Rang GP to give them a flea in their ear.......they provide me with so many drugs and one glance at my prescription would tell them.....very pleasant but useless receptionist.

had so much hassle over this.....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Interestingly I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the power of advertising as the Go Compare AD come up as an example of the most irritating but the most remembered.....they have had huge business because of this ad.

I honestly have to turn the sound off when the ad comes on - I feel like putting my foot through the screen, it's so annoying!!! (And on Sky, the same ads are on literally EVERY break too!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!)

I had to keep to a diet for a recent hospital examination and was told not to eat anything at all from Sunday dinnertime (approx. 1.30 pm) to the time of my appointment the next day - 2.50 pm. By the time I got to the hospital, I was physically shaking......

'You don't have to be so scared.....' the nurse said to me.

'Well, I am scared....' I replied, 'but, also being diabetic, I'm rather dizzy and shaky from not having ate anything for over 24 hours......'

The nurse looked at the sheet in front of her and then held it out to me. 'You can see for yourself.....' she said, 'you're not diabetic according to the specialist concerned!!!' He had put a definite 'NO' at the side of the question: 'Is patient diabetic'.

If they'd have known, I would have been given an early morning appointment, instead of mid-afternoon!! Dohhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

What you need is a very large dog and a beware of the dog sign. Believe me they will read that and take note.
Phil

I do have a large dog - a rottie / staffie mix........ The blokes who regularly bring flyers round (advertising taxi firms, pizza shops, etc) have got to know the address now and either miss us completely or shoot up the path and back down again like rockets!!! Laugh!!!! Actually, the dog constitutes another added problem when these cold-callers come to the house, as we have to keep locking her away so we can answer the door to them! Laugh!!!

All the best,

Nick

Nick

If you have a sign saying "Beware of the Dog" and another saying "No Callers". I would leave the dog out and I would put another sign inside the gate that they could see whilst making their quick exit saying "I refer you to the sign on the front of this gate".

It's time that plastic bags were banned and replaced with paper ones, at least they rot in landfill. When I am asked if I want a bag, I usually say no thanks I'vv'e got enough to carry.

SB, supermarket plastic carrier bags are biodegradable and so also rot easily, just keep one in the sun for a few days and you should find it greatly weakened, I keep them in a cupboard and use them as bin liners but sometimes they are already disintegrating by the time I use them.

Supermarket bags are biodegradable yes, but they don't degrade that quick, countless small animals choke on them. And the plastic that comes round four cans of beer. SB

Yes I have had to fast Nick and you can end up feeling quite ill,I always insist on early appointments on these occasions now.

I do not understand why paper bags are not used, another thing I hate is sachets of sauce, the plastic waste must make mountains, why not use bottles??

I'll tell you who I want put in the stocks, the raving Tart in the Go Compare adverts. The one with the Hercule Poirot (Can't stand him either) moustache.
Yes the one who sings like an opera singer with hemorroids in his throat and a face and a body like a pot bellied pig. SB
