Morning all.almost blown away by this wind.Poor Jill had a large twig land on her from a tree.Jill is my collie by the way but she was ok.

I haven't taken our dog out for about three days now, the old arthritis is playing up a bit at the moment, so we have had stand ins for the last three days. What's the good of having grandchildren if you can't get some use out of them now and again.

The only way my grandchildren will walk anywhere is if they are walking a dog, they think it's more important that an animal gets exercise than they do.

hi all

rain kept away from here as well so far.

phil, you should get your bus pass as it saves a lot of money whilst on holiday etc. you cant use it in scotland or wales tho. you can only use them on the trains in the west midlands if you live in the west midlands. mine does not cover rail travel but i have a senior rail card which gives me cheap train fares. i actually dont like going anywhere in a car, you have to find somewhere to park, then have to watch the time for when your parking is up. the bus pass gives you a freedom to roam, i go to evesham some days then catch a bus to stratford upon avon or worcester and come back a different route. i went to tewkesbury from evesham but came back via upton upon severn and worcester. you certainly see some nice villages, really old fashioned still with the duck pond on the village green, which you would not see in a car.

dont know how far you can go on the train with your bus pass, i think you can go to coventry. i know you can go as far as
earlswood lakes but then you have to walk through the woods to the lakes and pub but there is a bus from there back to shirley. even if you used your pass so far then paid and went to say lichfield, such a lovely city. (You might even be able to travel that far).
i just find it so nice and relaxing not to have to worry about parking a car and hurrying up to get back before your two or hours or so is up.
