I wish I was young enough to go to Glastonbury, I would be there like a flash. They had only just began to play with the idea of Rock Festivals when I was younger. I didn't get to the IOW for the first one in 68 but managed to get to the Stones in the park the following year, but that was about the end of my outdoor pop days. Though I did go to two all night Jazz festivals one at Lightwoods Park and one at Earlswood.
Judging by the info on the link to SBs festival, the highlight is the arrival of the Mayor of Banbury . Don't know if he will be riding a cock horse (whatever that may be). No doubt SB will tell us

Good evening Lynn and everyone. My mate Paul Strong and I went to the Stones concert in Hyde Park. We started off at Midnight. The Lyceum Ballroom in the strand did a thing called Midnight court. The Bonzo dog Band was on + about another Five bands this was on until 6am. The we trotted off to Covent Garden to a good rough cheap greasy spoon for a bellybustin pitstop. Then off to Hyde Park for the Stones Gig and a day that was hotter that Hell. We didn't do too bad we saw 12 bands in 18 hours for one pound, not bad when you think one of em was the Rolling Stones. Then we stayed the night at his Aunts in North London. We was knackered we got to bed after a few beers at about 11pm on Saturday, I had been up since 6am on Friday and had worked all day. Pauls mom drove down to London to extract us on Sunday Morning. A week end I will never ever forget. SB

The big thing I remember about the gig in the park was musically it wasn't very good and I have to say that The Stones were one of the worst acts. They just couldn't seem to get it together. There again I've never been a fan of the Stones. There were much better acts on the bill than the Stones, perhaps it was the recent death of Brian Jones that affected them, but there again perhaps the tribute to him at the start of the set was a bit much considering that sacking him may have contributed to his death.
Good morning everyone, had a great day yesterday, it was very warm. There were loads of working traction engines etc etc. Will post some pictures tonight.
