There was a little flurry in 2011 and the odd comment since.

Good evening each. Not a bad day today, done a bit more work on (No Mans Land). That's the bit at the the bottom of the garden where pots etc were emptied out over many years and gradually built up from molehills into mountains. Now that area is slowly being returned back to garden.
Then I spent the afternoon adding another bench/table in the Railway shed for my model railway. My railway Shed is finally taking shape thaks to a lot of help from my old pal Volty, For which I will be forever grateful. Followed by painting horses for my Trooping The Colour model. The horses I am working on are Brown ones for the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery. About 70 altogether. At least they are all made now. One of my least favourite jobs is to make the wheels for the Gun and Limber x6, it's not a bad job reall but they take ages.

Did not realise (had never thought about it) that different regiments had different coloured horses

I have found that mainly The Household Cavalry have black horses, The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery were mainly Brown, During World War One
The HAC (Honourable Artillery Company) were in action in Palestine around 1918. These 13 pounder Guns saw service from 1904-1940. Many wild horses were caught in America, broken and shipped over. They were mostly Brown. Officers and High ranking people such as Royalty etc usually seem to ride white ones. I am sure there are Variations to these details. Of course I can only go by photo's. some of which are even in colour.
Apart from colour some horses were even matched to size. Of course riding in pairs there would be a real problem if the horse on one side was faster than the one on the left also there were six horses in a team so ideally all six horses in that team should be able to work together.

Thanks SB. Had not realised that. If I set pub quizzes (which I don't) that would be a good thing to put in

It comes to something when the only thing vaguely worth watching on TV is football, assuming it is on the BBC.
It can be educational though, for instance I discovered that all the Portuguese players were educated at RADA and are competing for an Oscar.
How a bunch of random wasters can discuss it for an hour afterwards is still a mystery to me, hopefully I will never be able to understand that.
