I've just read in a computer magazine something that's put the block on treating myself to a new computer for Christmas, namely that
early in 2011 Microsoft will be releasing a beta version (trial run) of windows 8, crikey version 7 has only just come out, what's going on, there's no way I'm buying a machine with just 12 months potential life for the operating system.
Also BT (the phone company) are increasing all their charges in October this year, due to staff wage increases.

All technology today is just one big con, I'm sure they have all the upgrades for the next five years in hand now, but if they don't make us wait and have the ones in between they will loose out.

john..ive just shown my youngest lad tom (17) your post and he said hes sticking with whats hes always had...windows XP which has been going for nearly 10 years ...apart from that he recomends windows 2000 to business IT users ..and i aint gonna argue with him as i am not technical enough to....lol...

I use XP on my PC and Vista on my Lap Top, I have no trouble with either. I prefer using my PC. Basically because I have a comfortable office chair upstairs. SB

I'm using Vista now, after all the doom & gloom rumours after its launch. I have had no problems yet, he says touching wood.
