Working outside does help with colds as Phil said but I don't think it does much for chest infections . Can you buy anti biotics without prescrition in Spain then Volty , what about the doseage or do they leave it to your own discression .

Yes Bernie, you can buy a lot of stuff in Spain that the quack won't even let you have on prescription here, unless you're dying.
The antibiotics, in this case Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid combination 500/125, otherwise known an Co-amoxiclav or Augmentin, come with an instruction leaflet, albeit in Spanish, which advises how much to take and when and warns of all the side effects and contra indications.
Pharmacists in Portugal and Spain are your first port of call when ill, they are very helpful and knowledgable and can recommend and supply medicines for most ailments.

They have different target areas, I know Amoxycillin is good for a chest infection, dental and ear infections, which is what it has prescribed to me for in the past, so that is the one I buy for emergencies as it covers most eventualities.
I have another for bowel infections, Nifuroxazide, which I was sold in Dubai in place of Immodium. It isn't the same as Immodium and has some very serious side effects so I didn't take it.
I only take my antibiotics if I am able to identify the infection and am unable to fight off the infection myself. Some times good diet and plenty of vitamin C negates the need for treatment.
When I do resort to the antibiotics I make a point of taking them all. You should never stop taking them part way through the course even though you may feel cured as this leaves you with some survivng bacteria that are now more resistant to antibiotics and will flare up again in the future and be more dificult to fight off.

I don't know, Frankenstein soon got some life into that monster with a bit of electricity. Mind you the price of it today you would be better off staying dead.

Evening all, No Phil, I was about 20 feet from the edge, no problem providing you are sensible.
Why are you all ill, you are young, can't understand it.
Have a job at 7. 00 am in the morning, gone to bed.

Pride comes before a fall, and I am not referring to the cliffs. There seems to be something going around that even hard work and hearty breakfasts can't keep at bay.

John

I have worked on some pretty high buildings, height doesn't bother me, but I have seen what high winds can do when carrying something as simple as a scaffold board. What makes you laugh, if that was a job someone was paying a lot of money for, they would make the client bankrupt paying for barriers and safety scaffolding.
