What I was about to say was I had put the oven on for chicken breasts and bacon, for tonights Club Sandwiches (baps), and so I put the pizza in to make it hot and crispy.
I then remembered that the oven was still on, 45 minutes instead of the 30 I had planned on. It was ok though, the chicken was about right and although the bacon couldn't have taken any more it's perfect, crispy and no fat.
I thought I had done a Signman Sunday special.

My mother has never been one much for drinking, but in recent years , on the occasions when she is having a drink, has taken a liking to WKD with ice. This causes great interest and some amusement with younger members in the pub, who, when I buy it, think it is for me (and probably think I'm a bit old for "trendy" drinks like that). I think it reminds her of Vimto and similar-tasting drinks from her youth

I see nothing wrong with these modern drinks other than the fact that they are like drinking pop with a sting in the tail. I make the distinction of omitting the modern weak American beers from that generality. Not that I have ever tasted more than one, but I think if I were going out for an evening and drinking them alone it would take in the region of about 100 bottles to even get me merry. The other thing is, why do they drink them out of the bottle. Does it go flat that quickly?

In my opinion drinking out of bottles and cans is a filthy idea, you never know who has handled them. It's like spitting and all the other modern ideas that people have today. Just a bunch of tramps. SB

Can't say i like these drinks myself, and I would be reluctant to drink out of a bottle, unless it was in the bush, and glasses were not available. I remember reading, or being told, at some time , that the reason drinking out of a bottle started was because it made it more difficult for someone to spike it . It then took off as a fad. Don't know if it is true though
