Two things i learned today 1 this goverment pays a subsidy to the big 5 energy firms to look into green ways of producing energy,they put 21 per cent on yours and mine bills to pay for it.Whose paying for itnot them us 2 george osbourne is taking the european parliment to court to stop them capping bankers bonuses.who does he think he is.

I agree with both of you,incidentaly did you know george is not osbournes real christian name, it is gideon sebastian osbourne.He claims he changed it to make himself more acceptable to the people, pity it didnt work.

Who is he?

Our chancellor mr osbourne has been at it again,all unemployed for more than two years will sign on every day,or do work in the community .Cook meals for old people, do their gardens etc,they need not come to our house .Here in shropshire some people are so far of the beaten track they sign on by post,is he going to provide transport.?I think not.

Two of the ideas seem very reasonable (unexpectedly for a public school pratt) . I can't see the point of having to sign in every day though. I suppose it would make extra employment foe those working in the relevant office, but far better to ensure that they do something useful, or possibly learn something useful (though in the latter case there would have to be precautions to ensure that Osborne's crooked friends don't set up any more fraudulent companies supposedly training people)

What's this about fradulent companies,are you serious , i missed that please tell.

When the government put a lot of money some years ago into supposed training schemes, most were contracted out go private companies. A large number of these companies just took the money and either gave little training but still issued a "certificate", or the training it did give was so useless as to be no help in anyone getting a job. Undoubtably training (if it is for something useful) should help people get a job, but not if it is used as a milch cow for some "entrepreneur" usd to support his habit
