Well folks it's a dirty dark dismal dull dreary dungheap of a miserable morbid melancholy messy rainy rat infested nasty nausiating crap day in Brummytown today
And here's me deciding whether to bother to go out and do some of these little jobs that are piling up.
Well with such an encouraging description of what I can already see from desk I am definitely leaning toward staying in the warm.

Cold? No Chance.
Wet? Not likely.
Cold and wet? You're 'avin' a laugh.

Phil, mines the armchair on the other side of the door.
SB, not responsable for that .
Morning John, I can't remember where it was but but some wag painted an open manhole onthe pavement years ago. It really looked as though you could fall down it.

Can't remember his name, but he's famous and also brilliant, he does swimming pools, and other realistic scenes.
Is he mentioned in this article?

Julian Beever, that's his name he's brilliant, here's one of my favourites, and a photo of Birmingham City Council officials (p888s) telling him to clear off, one day into a drawing, looks like New Street.
Birmingham City Council have some of the most officious employees of any Council. Once when we were stripping out the piano bar at the top of New Street (Bogart's?) we had one give us earache. He was from the Council HSE department.
We had to place our skips behind a hoarding on New Street in pedestrianised area. This was done by our lorry driving up to the top of New Street turning around in Victoria Square and reversing back to the hoarding.
We were in the reversing part of the operation when this idiot stopped us. He wanted to know why we had no one walking at the rear of the lorry watching the members of the public. We pointed out that we had there was someone on the drivers side at the rear of the lorry.
No good he said, he wanted someone walking in the middle of the lorry at the rear. We pointed out that would be of no use at all because the driver couldn't see him there and therefore was unable to see his signals.
He insisted on having it done his way, so from then on we put an extra man on helping the driver to back in because we were safety conscience and not just stupid like the jobsworth. He didn't suggest we do it, he just wanted someone walking at the back of the lorry like it says in the book. It's a pity the book doesn't define the position.

Sounds dangerous to me Phil, what if the guy behind the lorry tripped over, do you have any idea how much damage could be caused to the lorry?
