Yes i saw this on the news its good to hear most pubs
are going to the wall lately i dont go out so often now

It's Quotes.
Why quote the last post? Quotes are for bringing an old post to the fore before replying to it. It's not as if we are queueing up to get our responses in.
We don't hold conversations with other people by running through everything that has been said so far, prior to our reply to the other person, we just say what we are going to say.
