It's for charity, and involves people padding in a kayak or canoe from one pier to the other and back again about a mile in the shortest time.

Thank god for that when you said paddling, I thought you meant as in wading. I thought it was a bit deep there for that.

I'm back up on the roof today, flat of course. We are resealing it with resin and fibre sealant and washing the moss and dust out of the stone chips.

I went to an afternoon tea of strawberries scones cream and jam, several slices of cake, coffee tea and orange juice and I had the lot as I had paid £5 for it at a fund raiser.

Feeling pleasantly stuffed ,when I got home Jim had cooked a roast as a surprise.........I had left him watching the tennis...................so I had to eat it,it was lovely but I now feel like the vicar of Dibley when she ate about five christmas meals in order not to offend.Going to explode any time now I reckon.

Heavy duty day today we are making some headway with our work, but still snowed under.

John did you see my post in Gardening, that plant you asked about is a "Hebe Snowdrift".

Morning SB, yes I did see it and thought I'd replied, thank you for that and VM and Denise for their impetus also.
It's already hot and sunny here 80 as I sit typing this, out on a trip somewhere (haven't made my mind up yet).
Bubble and Squeak for breakfast, and then do a few sarnies and a couple of flapjacks to eat in the middle of a forest or a quaint little village somewhere, ( blimey I'll be writing romantic novels next) I always carry 3 cameras when I go out for the day, and always with my trusty monopod,
a lot more practical than a tripod, of which I have two.

Went to Shoreham yesterday.
Has anyone ever heard of the Shoreham houseboats, these have to be seen to be believed.
Here's a photo of one, will post more if you are interested.

Doesn't look like a boat or a house. Does it float?

VM, these are world famous, they are old boats of all types way past their prime, and people have decided to make homes in them, amongst whom are a doctor, 2 university lecturers, a former pop star (don't know who) and a few raggle taggle gypsy types, I find them utterly fascinating
here's another photo, and yes that is a real reliant you see.
There's a boat and berth going if you want it £166,000.

I've never had the nerve to ask, although I have spoken to a couple of residents, maybe they don't want people to see what their living conditions are like being as I 've never been asked, although showing a lot of interest.
