What's your favourite meal, sandwich.desert and tipple.
I'll start it off,
meal: cottage pie with anything,(would have it for breakfast, and have been known to.)
sandwich :crusty bread, buttered, cold sliced boiled potatoes, sliced cooked sprouts, cheese and colmans mustard.
desert: cherry pie and ice cream.
tipple:gin and tonic(must be schweppes)'

This is an easy one John, especially now I'm not allowed to touch any of it.

Brown Windsor Soup Highly Peppered

Medium Rare Porterhouse Steak, Chips & Side salad. With a large glass of dry cider.

Vanilla Dairy Ice Cream.

Cheddar Cheese With Ritz Crackers

Black Coffee with a generous measure of Macallan or Highland Park Single Malt.

Simple,but wonderful.

As boring as it may sound, though I do like to try different dishes. I still really enjoy a full English Roast Beef and Yorkshire pud Sunday lunch with roasties of course and all the trimmings and nice rich gravy. I also still love good old Beans on nice thick crusty Toast with Brown or Tomato sauce ( Barbecue sauce is nice too). SB

SB,
That wouldn't be curried beans would it? Made with baked beans and plain old curry powder.
You were making them long before Heinz stole your idea.

I'd forgotten about that, and if you remember I used to throw a few Sausages in, Heinz etc do that too now.

I don't think daddies or hp sauces are anything like they used to be, seem far too sweet these days, or is it just me.

Hi John
HP was taken over a few years ago by Heinz and the Aston factory demolished. That may account fot some of it. SB

The trouble is when you have the same company owning two brands of a similar product they are going to try by whatever method they can to get rid of one brand. Not long after Heinz bought out HP Daddies sauce became near impossible to get.

I think this was a ploy to get people buying HP again after people stopped buying it because of the takeover.

It annoyed me because I have always preferred Daddies to HP.
