I thought the Trocadero was by Guy Salmon on Smallbrook Queensway.
Was it not?

Hi VM

Forgive me for being such an ignoramus, but I have no idea what or Guy Salmon was. But the Tocadero was and is a fine old pub on Temple Street.

I don't believe I've ever been in that Trocadero.
Guy Salmon is an upmarket car rentals company.
So what was the pub I avoided on the Queensway then?
Was it Gilded Cage?

No you mean the one by the Odeon Ringway, whose name escapes me.

I think you lads are talking about the Jester which like several other pubs of its time was downstairs. A feature that I didn't like much after the bombings in the city. I used to pop in there occasionally in the 60's but tended to give it a miss after then.
