have to agree with this...if you think its looks rubbish from the outside you want to see the inside of it ..its always reminded me a multi story car park....and some idiots tried to get this building grade listed...

It was always on the cards wasn't it? Listed or not it wouldn't make a lot of difference to BirminghamCouncil anyway. I wonder how long the new one will last?

probably not long phil....would think it will have gone all rusty in 10 years time...

This story was in the Mail some months ago. The Library/Conservatoire all that area are to be cleared for new buildings and public spaces. The main reason that Central Library is so ugly (According to a conversation I had with a City Councillor) is that it was NEVER FINISHED. The sight that we see now isn't exactly as the plans described it.

I worked in the school of Music and the Adrian Boult Hall many years ago, I remember it was either attached or very close to the library. Surely that isn't going to be demolished as well is it?

As far as I know Volty all that lot will go, I may be wrong of course but its not likely is it.
