Makes you realise all the high tech eqipmeng they used last time wasn't as good as they thought. I would like to ask the express reporter where else in the world other than england you would expect to find anglo saxon remains. His phraseology is a bit over the top

Thats some find again, I had read. That they were going to take another look after it was ploughed.

In my opinion, they should get in some heavy plant excavate the whole field to a depth of six foot and put it through a sieve. There is no archaeology there so nothing can be harmed and everything they pull out is in pieces anyway. I don't think they will ever come up with a credible reason why it was there in the first place.

Whats to harm? there is no archaeology, none of the relics are whole anyway it's all scrap that looks as if it was on it's way to be re-smelted. My theory is that the original site of this gold hoard was where the motorway is now, and it has gotten transferred to the adjacent field somehow during construction and then ploughing has scattered it all over the field.
