Not that I would ever vote for UKIP anyway, but I don't think even they are stupid enough to believe a Tory promise.

SB, I think that is the whole point of the suggestion.

What I can't understand is why anyone votes for Labour, Tories or the Puppy dog Lib Dems, the first two have taken it in turns to screw this country up for generations.

SB

At one time depending on your political beliefs you voted for the party you trusted to do as much as they promised to do as they possibly could. Nowadays all you can trust any party to do is use their position to make themselves as rich and as powerful as possible. This is the reason I do not vote anymore so that at least no one can blame me when it all comes tumbling down.

That is exactly the problem Phil. At the bottom of an election sheet there should be a box to allow people to abstain. That way you could go to the polls, and abstain saying I want none of the rubbish above.that way it it would sort out the brassed off from the apathetic.
We keep hearing about low turnouts, but a fair amount of this is due to low quality candidates. I would never waste my vote not bothering to go.

I do not see my vote as wasted. I see it as a protest. These candidates know that the people are not voting just because of apathy, but it is a statement that says, even though it is as easy as popping an envelope in the nearest post box I'm still not going to vote for you. I believe that when they bring in internet voting (which I believe will happen soon) and you can register your vote from your own home without leaving it, there will still be no difference in turnout.

and i will go along with that phil..whats the point in voting just cos you can....and then constantly moan about the state of the country when the party you vote for gets in but cant deliver. sorry but i cant vote for something or someone i dont believe in or have no faith in...all parties that have been in government over the past 40 odd years are equally responsible for the state the country is in now...dont trust any of them and i wouldnt waste my time or energy on voting even if i could do it from me pc....

The last time I voted was to get my heroine elected.
After what her own party did to her I realised what a bunch of selfish, childish morons our politicians are.
I can't even vote for the none mainstream parties like UKIP, because bubbling under the surface of them wanting to do the sort of things I would like to see done they are generally quite dangerously barmy.

I might go and vote if there was a "None of The Above" choice.

Volty

If your heroine stood now I might vote for her, considering she is suffering with senile dementia. Her policies now might make some sense, because they certainly never before and you must be the only person in the country that thought they did. How could you think that considering she was the one who put this country in so deep a hole that I think we will never get out of it. My only hope is that I live long enough to dance at her funeral.

They wouldn't let you dance actually on her grave at the funeral Phil. You'd have to wait till the evening or after

In the meantime there must be plenty of union leaders graves to dance on.

Mike believe me what I would do on her grave would be more than dance.
