RE: Bird funerals

A few years ago our late hunter cat caught a Magpie in the back garden. I went out to see what the noise was and found it was like a scene from Hitchcocks "The Birds" out there.
The roofs were lined with magpies all screeching, the cat was hiding under the bench and I had to pick him up and bring him in while protecting him, and myself, from some swooping magpies.

We weren't too bothered about the death of the magpie, there were far too many of them and they were in a destructive phase, pecking the rubber out of double glazing, debarking trees and attacking squirrels.
In any event, for every bird that cat caught he brought home six rats.
