The End of Corporation Street Buses

hi all..i was in the city centre this morning and took these pics..wont be able to do this soon as from 22nd july all traffic including buses will cease to run down corporation st owing to the new metro track that is being built..its the end of an era..

I really don't understand why trams were done away with, all they needed was upgrading and modernising. Don't tell me that the economists didn't see the massive rises in fuel costs coming even 60 years ago.

I doubt if economists see anything ahead that will actually happen, they live only in a world of theories. Anyway, it would have been a decision of the councillors (plus of course those paying backhanders to them). Possibly the same councillors that decided to bulldoze most of the city to build "something new" , only to have most of that condemned a few years later

I look at these photo's and wouldn't know they were taken in Corporation Street if you hadn't told me.
