When I worked in our local pub in the Garretts Green/Sheldon area of Birmingham we used to have a guy called Tommy Crutchley come in. I don't know if I posted this before I can't remember. I am guessing he died around the end of the 1970s-early1980s.

Susan I remember Tommy quite well, he was a "regular" as locals are called here and he drank pints of Mild. As I remember he was also in the Domino team. SB

Phil ..... I don't have any children of George's named Thomas, either in the first or middle name. Could that be because George's father Thomas was still alive during George's reproductive years? lol He was quite reproductive!! Who knows perhaps Tommy was a cousin to my Walter, George's son, from whom I descend. Susan

Lynne, I do not.
I am sure of a brother, Joseph Crutchley, born about 1840. Here is a breakdown..
All censi pertain to the 85 Coleshill St., Birmingham address.
1881 - George Crutchley, Head, Butcher, born Birmingham, Warwickshire
Joseph Crutchley, Brother, Butcher, born Birmingham, Warwickshire
1891 - *Henry Crutchley, Head, Butcher, born Birmingham, Warwickshire
Joseph Crutchley , Lodger, Butcher, born Birmingham.
1901 - **Elizabeth Crutchley, head, widow, Butcher,
Florence F. Crutchley, step dau, Clerk in Shop
Joseph Crutchley, Brother in Law, Butcher
*Henry is George's son and is residing there and running the "G. Crutchley Butcher" shop
**George's widow Elizabeth Priddis Weston Crutchley. George died Feb 1901.
Thanks for any help and guidance you can offer. Regards, Susan

Hello Susan, I'm trying from all angles to find a clue to George. Tried 4 Cems so far with no luck and Emailed one of the biggest but no reply as yet, to find his resting place. I do have a feeling that Henry is Georges brother but no proof yet. I'll get back to you if I find anything.

Forgive me for sticking my nose in, but the four most local churches with graveyards to Coleshill St were, St Mary's Whitthall St, St James the Less Barrack St, St Mathews Willis St, and St Bartholemews Masshouse Lane which would have been the nearest. Have you tried these?
Phil, feel free to stick your nose in. we need all the help we can get. George died in Handsworth but doesnt appear to be buried there. I've tried St. Marys, Whittall St. but cant find him there. I thought I would do the cemeteries first and then try the churchyards. I'll try the others you have suggested if hes not in Witton. Thanks
Lynne.
