The New Old UK Passport

If you are looking forward to getting an "old fashioned" British passport again, consider this.

Under the EU rules of procurement the contract to manufacture these passports must be put out to tender across the EU.
The result is that the contract may go to a French firm.
The British firm De La Rue (really?) is going to lose its current contract to make the red EU passport for us.

This is the sort of outside interference in our affairs that those who voted to leave the EU were trying to block.
I can't see why the contract has to be awarded to anyone until we are not in the EU. Problem solved.
