Facebook Pretends To Be Sorry

Sorry the data theft went public?
It can't be any other sort of sorry can it?

He started a website that harvests data from its visitors and registered users, he doesn't make money from the useless self exposure of said users, he has got incredibly rich by inserting adverts into the users bragging pages.
That is never enough, year on year he has to make more money than he did the year before.
Well what do you know, he has access to reams of personal information about his users that they have unwittingly provided and agreed to let him use howsoever he likes, which in all instances is sell the information to everyone that can pay for it.

This must surely all be part of his business model, so why apologise now?
Perhaps it's because this time someone else is cashing in on this resource and he isn't getting a cut.
