Easy, it was from the RAC and they had very distinct envelopes.
The rest of the abusive mail was mostly from myself, some sort of split personality disorder we used to suffer from.

USED to suffer from ?

No Phil occasionally Volty makes a cross border insurgency from Yardley. He usually makes a successful retreat to his wardrobe before the guards notice.

You mentioned the AA would that be the Automobile Association that your brother works for or is it Alcoholics Anonymous being as he knows his way round the pubs. Mind you, I used to know my way around the pubs and I didn't work for either.

well, put it this way, if he didn't work for the Automobile Association and had more time on his hands he might become more familiar with the other one...
he enjoys his days off when he has more than one in a row

SB

When I was forced to retire it was the last thing I wanted and for years it drove me nuts, I would have gone back to work in a flash. Now I have to admit that if they said I was capable and offered me a job, I would have to refuse. Because in all honesty I don't think I am capable of turning out enough work of any kind to even earn the minimum wage.

You know the sort of thing Phil, there you are driving along, listening to the radio, one from your early adulthood by Arthur Askey about bees. The sun is shining and the roads are unusually quiet when you come across some road works where a toothless grinning fool is holding up a diversion sign. You go in the direction of the arrow. The sun goes behind a cloud, the roads seem a bit more bumpy and the streets are deserted with only the odd bit of brush blowing about in the ever increasing wind.
There are no more diversion signs, all the badly parked cars appear to be untaxed wrecks, you drive on through the first drops of rain but don't seem to be getting anywhere, each street looks like the last and all the houses are identical although with a chill you notice that some have front verandas with empty rocking chairs still in motion.
Closer inspection as you roll past these uniform dwellings reveals distorted faces at the cracked and dirty windows, how can that be called a smile with so many rotting teeth on show? The rain is more intense now and you can barely see the road ahead as a pair of deranged women eating a corpse at the roadside flash into view, you instinctively hit the accelerator and close your eyes. The must be a nightmare, I'll wake up in a moment...please let me wake up...this can't be real...aaaaagggghhhhh!

That my friends is a trip through Sheldon and Garretts Green.

What volty doesnt tell you is that sheldon was very nice untill the beggars started to come in from Yardley. their idea of a square meal was to suck on an OXO cube once a week.
