its just got me thinking that gone are the days when as kids we did penny for guy and then gave our mom and dad the money who then bought our fireworks a day before the 5th and they alway put them in an empty biscuit tin for safety.....happy days..

Actually the fireworks have started pretty late this year even for around here. Perhaps they are getting too expensive even for fools with money to burn. I know we all let off a few penny bangers when we were kids before bonfire night, but they are like sticks of dynamite these days.

Yes I remember them and sparklers, I remember you could get a bad burn from them if you got hold of the wrong end of one that had just been used.

evening all. does anyone remember them awful jumping jacks, no matter where you went they followed you. I hated them.

oh god lynne i hated those jumping jacks and if you didnt pin the catherine wheels properly to the fence they flew off all over the place.. [Laugh Out Loud]

Was there one called Flower Pots, they were all pretty, I can see my brothers now, tutting because they didnt do anything, they wanted loud bangs.

Where they the little volcano shaped ones that shot out all coloured lights with the occasional little bang. I know that when we were walking in the streets in our teens we used to drop jumping jacks behind and girls that we passed and wait for the screams.
