I've just been down to the kitchen for my coffee and toast.
I found an imprint of an Owl on the kitchen window.
He is about 6 inches tall, you can see his wings, his head with a beak down the middle, his body and two furry dangly legs.

But do they fly into your kitchen window during the night?
When they crash into windows, birds leave behind a dusty image of themselves.
The image is formed by the natural dust in their feathers sticking onto the glass during the impact.

I've had a look round outside and there are no signs of him, not even a feather, so I imagine it was a light impact and he recovered from it and went on his way.

I have seen this sort of image a number of times, and always there is no body below, so i assume they all lived to tell the tale. As I understand it, it is the oil in th efeathers, not dust, thta leaves the imprin, a bit like the oil on your fingers leaves a fingerprint
