Quote: Sheldonboy wrote in post #18586Brum Councillors over last few years have totally lost the plot. I woult personally like to hang every one of them in a pretty pattern all round our disgustingly horrble and over priced new library.
hi den...keep clear of the stratford road and alum rock road as well...im afraid the powers that be are only interested in tarting up the city centre and in my view are making a right pigs ear out of that..
Phil as a once devoted Brummie I used to praise our city all the time. But the money mad psychopathic morons that run this place have made the centre of it inaccesible to car drivers, the elderly, disabled and the downright knackered which at some time or other includes most of us. Some of the projects which include our new library and this waste of space of a tram extesion. John lewis are building a new flagship store costing millions little do they know that the buses won't be passing the door after this week. If I could afford to move to the isle of wight I would never come back to this crap heap. Corporation street shuts to traffic on sunday. Wait and see how many shops follow it.
Lichfield is nice because it has hung onto its historical buildings. It has a great civic pride......every morning the street cleaners are out.I would not say it is better than Brum in many ways but I am glad to escape the traffic.
Brum is always the home of my heart I suppose so it makes me cross to see it go downhill.
