Hi, I am gravon42. I have lived in Birmingham all my life, (72 so far!) Born in Sparkbrook, South Road. Visited there some years ago....nothing left of the old place! No houses, shops, Woodman pub, all gone. Nearest I can find on this site is Balsall Heath, Ladypool Road. Used to go down there often, with my parents and sister. Anyone from Sparkbrook??
Good evening Gravon, many thanks for joining us and may I extend a very big welcome to you. We are a very small but very friendly bunch and a new voice is always a treat. I hope you find plenty on here to interest you but if not please feel free to add anything that you think may interest the rest of us. I work not far from your old area and I can say with a great deal of authority that I wouldn't advise that you went back there now and certainly not alone. So once again a great big welcome to you and lets hear some more from you pal.
welcome gravon please enjoy the forum....do you have any old photos at all of where you lived...ie the woodman pub or south road??? if not i will see if i can find any for you...in the meantime please let us have your memories of growing up in sparkbrook...just start a new thread under the streets and neighbours section and title it something like growing up in south road sparkbrook or something like that...look forward to hearing more from you
