Crazy Weekend In Wales

#1 by astoness , Mon Jun 15, 2015 7:43 pm

hi folks well im back and what can i say..i thought our jo was a disaster area but jo i dont think even you could top this little lot...

arrive at site friday 4.30 check in..get key to van..van not acceptable...off to reception to ask for a move...

6.30 drive onto beach only a little way..stop to look at the view of the sea for 10 mins..turn round to come back off the beach..car sunk up to the wheel arches..panic set in as tide was coming in...a couple who lived in one of the chalets right on the front came out and told us to stop digging and went to get a friend of theirs who also lives on the site..he came within a few mins with land rover and tow truck and pulled us out...

sat morning we went on a steam train journey to devils bridge..got off as there was an hour to wait until the train went back to so decided to go and look at devils bridge and the falls...have to walk down a steep road with no pavements ..side of road very uneven...i was too busy looking at what was around me..tripped on uneven surface and went flying no chance of me staying upright because of the steepness but somehow manged to yank myself away from on coming car narrowly missing me...had to walk back up the hill to a cafe out come the medical box and was sorted out until we could get to a chemists...luckily i was wearing jeans but still ended up with 2 bruised knees..took all the skin off every finger on left hand and the skin off the indside of left hand..right hand not so bad and luckily no gravel in my hands

got up sunday hurting like hell but i could mange to get out so decided to go on another steam train just before we got on the train my friend realised he hadnt got his phone with him..looked in car and it wasnt there so we guessed he may have left it on the table at the site when we had breakfast..either that or it had fell out of his pocket when he got out of the car and someone had kept it..i decided to phone his number which was ringing out ..tried it a couple of time but no one answered so we decided to do the train trip and then go back to the site to see if anyone had handed in the phone..about 30 mins later i had a txt message saying..your phone is behind the bar at the site...

so alls well that ends well but what a weekend which i still enjoyed and was amazed at the kindness of so many strangers..

BEAT THAT JO..[Little LOL]

The bit about sinking the car in the beach is funny, it's a classic.
The fall is bad news, a job for Savlon cream I think.
Hope you heal up soon Astoness.
