I don't suppose the bricks changed size, they were just quoted in metric.

Birds Custard was once one of Brums great companies. Does anyone think that Birds custard is as good as it used to be. I think it's paler and weaker.

In my view Birds Custard is certainly (in my humble opinion) not as dark as it used to be. I wonder though if this is a change in the permitted colorings used. maybe the lead paint has been changed.

I had the same thought as you SB. It very likely might not be that the color previously used was banned, but that the company decided to give itself a better image, in the media at least, by using a "natural" colour. Don't have a tin at present, but next time I am in the supermarket I will look and see which is the colour now used.

Gravon42's comment was actually nothing to do with the custard powder.

I have tin of powder, I'll bet it's much older than I think, I will have to note it's contents.

SB, I'll have a look but I don't think so. Does it come in a tin?
