I know I always have a downer on Hornby, but is it any wonder?
On Friday I checked their website to see if they were offering any Black Friday deals. They weren't.
I even checked a bit later in the day because I know how inefficient Hornby are. Still nothing.

Today I looked in to see if they have any Cyber Monday deals, they don't but their Black Friday deals will end at 5pm today.
I don't think they quite understand the concept.

Anyway, having looked at the 152 items on offer it becomes very obvious that all they are doing is marking down their most overpriced crap to some sort of normal level.
For example, Rolling Road Spare Rollers - R8212 are down from £17 to £10
The biggest % discount is on their 2014 catalogue, down from £8 to 50p. Not bad when you consider that they didn't manage to launch any of the new products in it that were promised for 2014.
So for 50p an anorak can get what is more realistically a 2015-2017 catalogue. What a bargain.

All the best items are sold out.

Maybe its not quite as simple as that. They may be marking down their most overpriced crap, but it is not directly because it is overpriced, but because no-one is buying it (because it is overpriced).
Incidentally , that does seem rather much to pay - £17 for just one roller. You would have to have at least half a dozen to get your hair curly all over

I ordered some wagons (crap) anyway. They had some J Hackett & Co. 6 Plank Wagons at £5 and I am after Birmingham related rolling stock.

At least their on-line calendar has some nice pictures…..

Despite not managing to launch their promised 2014 offerings, Hornby have now published their 2015 list.
Note the Pre-order feature, how useful that must be for something that will never get made.
