So sad to see the old beehive like that, when I was a kid a old lady who lived two doors up from us use to ask me friday night to get her 2 bottles of nourishing stout, the beehive had a side entry which ran right down to terrace road ,so we did'nt have to go on the main roads, she use to give me 3 pence each time I went, happy days, and let me have the money off the
empties..
My sisters first job when she left school was at dennisons the factory next door.

What a sad end to an old pub. What amazes me is that someone owns these sites before they are allowed to fall into this state.

I've contacted mitchells and butlers to see if they still own the site...

They don't care really, because it's just real estate.
In Shirley on the Stratford Road there is the old CEGB Offices that were bought by a supermarket years ago because they didn't want another supermarket to be able to buy it. It's a mess, and it will always be a mess because they won't spend money on it.

I can travel five miles to avoid Tesco.
There is one 1000 yards away that I won't use.
