I have had a look at you map VM I think that the long road is Garretts Green Lane, or it's origin and the road coming down could be either Sheldon Heath Road or Horrel Road, bearing in mind Horrell Rd goes down to Sheldon Church.

I was right in as much as the horizontal road is Garretts Green Lane and the Vertical road off the junction is now Sheldon Heath Rd. It's interesting to see that Garretts Green Lane on its West End turned right up into Cockshut Hill towards Yardley, this now more of a side road in comparison.
