Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have spent most of life trying to save.

I don't think it is just for diabetics, but is useful for others with macular degeneration, so, unless Cameron thinks it is just diabetics who are not tory supporters, it is all of us he despises

The first thing I have to ask is why does such a minute amount of anything have to cost so much. What reason do they have for charging £742.17 for a few millilitres of this serum. I suppose it converts nicely to a nice round even figure of Swiss francs.
Does anybody know if it needs more than the one injection as I have a personal interest.

I'm not an expert, but ,as I understand it , you have to have an injection every month. You can do it every 3 months, but this doesn't give as good a result. Ubdoubtably it must be expecnsive to make, but probably nothing like they charge. The very annoying.shocking/revolting thing is that another drug avastin, which could be considered a less refined version of the same thing can, some think (http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions...-vs-avastin.htm) be about as effective , and much cheaper. However the drug company only have a drug licence to sell avastin for the treatment of cancer, not macular degerneration (oedema), and they have refused to apply for a licence for it for this purpose . To do this they would have to carry out a lot of trials , which would cost money , and of course they are making a mint with the more expensive alternative. As I understand, doctors can choose to purchase Avastin and use it "off licence" (that is for a purpose it is not licensed for) but , understandably are wary of doing this, presumably in case something went wrong
