Day of Action
This is the place where Brummies used to chat about Birmingham old and new along with anything else that interests us.
We have Quizzes, Pizzas, Local History, News, Politics, Wedding Cake, Plum Pudding, Champagne, Easter Eggs and, above all, Respect for our fellow members.
So what do you think about today's union "Day of Action" protest? The government say it was a failure and the unions say it was a great success. I think the telling point was no government minister would give an interview this evening.
I don't think that today's action was as big or effective as it could have been. But what it will do, will show the Government that the Unions are still about and are not afraid to act. I can't see this being the last we hear of this.

I think it could possibly have been a little more effective if more people had joined in, but I think the problem is that some people think that the government will back down some on the pensions issue. When they see this is not going to happen then things will escalate. Union leaders said today "this is only the start". In my opinion we can look forward to a winter of discontent.
