Panasonic To Make Cars.

#1 by Voltman , Mon Oct 02, 2017 9:28 am

Panasonic are developing self driving and parking cars.

Watching the video of one being tested shows why they will never work.
They automatically stop for pedestrians and the car in front

When the roads are full of electric self driving cars no one will get anywhere by road. Pedestrians won't have to wait for a gap in the traffic anymore, just step into road and the cars will all stop.

You are very trusting of technology , Volty. Presumably any accidents will therefore be an "act of God", which will please the insurance companies, as these would be excluded from their policies

Just one thing. The first thing many men do when they get their hands on any car, is to alter and adapt it. So then driverless cars will be made to go at a certain speed, highly controlled and stop or at least slow down when they come across an obstacle.
I repeat my first sentence: The first thing many men do when they get their hands on any car is to alter or adapt it.
No matter how foolproof these cars are made, I suggest that there are many out there able to make these cars certain killers, just like todays foolproof cars.
