We actually had a collection last week, household and recycling all in the same wagon. Today the garden bin went out at 6 am and was collected at around 6.45.
It's always worth an email to :
letters@birminghammail.co.uk
It may just get printed.

had to laff at a comment from a binman..." its a hard dirty job we do...we empty 100 bins an hour..taking bins from the door to the wagon and back again"

what a load of rubbish...they do do not take the bins from the door unless on assisted collection.....they move the bins about 3 feet from pavement to the wagon in my case...

and if its such a dirty badly paid job why is it that for years there has been a waiting list of people wanting to work on the bins...

as i type...bins just been emptied...strike over

Maggots can get very busy but I would have thought large pizza boxes were beyond their abilities.

Early collection today.
They took all three bins into a three lift truck with two separate bays, as I watched them go along the road it became clear they didn't care what went where.
I'm just happy to see it go but recycling has taken a holiday.

We had our Recycling and household collected today all in the same truck. Had collections for three weeks now.
Strike what strike.
All we want now is to see the back of this bloody Council.

Ours was also a three week wait.
If they had turned up on our normal collection day then some of the people harbouring bags of rubbish in their own back gardens, instead of on the street, would have put them out.
Instead we got a 7am visit a day earlier than expected and no chance for fetching and hidden rubbish, consequently some bins went back out full within hours of being emptied.
