Controversial Birmingham City Statue Removed

#1 by Sheldonboy , Mon Jul 03, 2017 8:12 pm

I should think so too. The statue that was in Centenary square is being put into storage.
The statue depicting two Asian girls with their children, supposed to represent a real Birmingham family. What a bloody insult to our city. Until that piece of junk was unveiled I was always proud of our city. No longer.
I will always be proud of Birminghams great industrial History but the way it is run now by the idiots we have, you must be joking.
The Ikon Gallery paid £150,000 for it. Morons.

I would have liked a link to the story so it might make a modicum of sense, but if some idiot body has bought the offensive item then good riddance to it.
The only winner is the so called "artist(e)", who I spit on.

I couldn't agree more Volty.
Trouble was I found that story on the internet on my phone, I couldn't find it on the computer so I couldn't provide a link. My most sincere apologies your Holiness.

This awful statue more represents how Birmingham City Council regards its population. Instead of always trying to follow the modern way and falling on it's backside, why not try to show what made this the city great. Instead of making it an International Laughing Stock why not use Birminghams history to show what we are made of.

I doubt if many members of the council know anything about any history. Their only deep knowledge of anything will probably be in politics, accountancy and law, all three of which train their acolytes in deceit, lying, crooked dealing and greed

How many councillors have their own history in Birmingham?
