Bacterial Iced Coffee Anyone?

I don't know what to rant about first with this report.
There are so many things wrong with coffee shops, in my opinion, that this comes as no great surprise.

Why do people pay so much for a hot coffee drink with a stupid made up name? It is so expensive that other things are being pegged against it as in "For the price of a cup of coffee you can have....."
Why do people then have it cold and iced, you can definitely bring cold coffee from home.
Caffeine is bad for us even in low doses. My nervous system needs no stimulation, so why is it so popular? Addiction is the answer.
The people who work in these coffee outlets are not all necessarily there because they care about what they do and don't have to be very bright.

I have visited or worked in a number of toilets over the years and it never ceases to horrify me how many people don't wash their hands before they leave and happily grab the filthy door handle whether they washed or not.
The bacteria they carry away ends up on keyboards, tills, cutlery, chairs, desks, pens, etc.
The bare minimum in a food establishment should be an alcohol rub hand gel dispenser behind the counter.

Thoroughly agree. Nasty burnt concoctions smothered with the taste of hot milk (UGH), or even worse, hot skimmed milk (UGH.UGH)

I haven't had any coffee at all for six months, since I discovered it was causing my scary severe palpitations. I haven't had milk in coffee since 1978. It makes me feel sick, as does hot milk. Ground coffee gives me a different problem.
When working in people homes and various offices and factories I discovered there were a wide variety of ways of serving hot beverages, many of them disgusting, so black instant coffee was the safest bet.

I firmly believe that ALL food and drink outlets should supply antibacterial gel that is to be found in Hospitals.
To be used when you enter and when you leave such places.

There are people who won't. I was on a cruise ship (the one and only time) just after it had suffered an outbreak of Norovirus.
Hand gel was compulsory before getting on the ship and when entering restaurants. There was always one smart arse who thought he didn't need it.

These people think the gel is to protect them from us, when they are of course the one's most likely to be the carrier.
