The visits to the barber.
When younger you threw yourself into the chair,"whats it to be" as the barber tied the knot in the sheet in the nape of your neck. It felt like you were in the chair an hour with him wrestling with the mop on your head, like he was cutting a hedge.
Now your bums hardly settled into the seat "that will be seven quid sir" " can i trim your eyebrows for you" seeking a tip.
Mother Nature came to my aid, no, I still have some hair, she turned my head one day as I was passing the mirror. The words "for Gods sake son" ran across my mind and fixed my gaze. The next time I looked in the mirror I had a Phillips hair trimmer from Argos in my hand and shaved it all off to a fuzz, a number three it said on the comb attached to the trimmer.
What a release from the Barbers ritual and the vanity of hair.

On these cold wintry days, one thing I have learned to appreciate are doors on buses. Although I love to see the old buses now and God alone knows how I never got flung off the platform when the No. 17 used to fly round Garretts Green island I'll never know. Yes the old buses had loads more character, But todays buses are much warmer, even if the heating isn't on. There are also more seats and I must say they are more comfortable.
The only thing that has got worse is the service. Buses are more frequent now unfortunately the staff are incapable of reading or understanding a timetable. Recently when I had occasion to complain to West Midlands Travel about the Service i was informed "West Midlands Travel are not a service, we are a company run for profit". This is the company that runs the No50m bus. Supposedly the busiest bus corridor in Europe. SB

Dog Fowling.
Its been a long time since I stepped in it, when it used to be dodge the pile, and how many times have got on the bus or in the pub and even sat at home and got that tell tale smell that you had a cake on your shoe. I don't know if the dog population has gone up or down over the years but the doggy doe's have all but disappeared.

People are more responsible today, even before it became a fixed penalty offence to allow your dog to foul the pavement people were bagging the mess and binning it. I see that most parks now provide special bins. I would like to see more of these on the streets.

Toady,
I love dogs, and from the absence of doggy doe's about I think they all must be like you, but SB, is right, how do you get them to sit on those bins.
