Like em or love em, the end has come for Status Quo. Rick Parfitt one of the two remaining members has died. They have been with us most of our lives. Rough and ready Rock and Roll they may have been but entertaining they certainly were. I saw Quo in the sixties and the eighties and they were terriffic. I don't think they ever would have retired. God Bless you Rick RIP and thank you.
Quote: Voltman wrote in post #3Parfitt had already stood down from touring due to ill health, the name Status Quo may continue with the stand in.
Although it would only be a cover band, Status Quo could feasably go on for ever. It's simple music really. Played from the " A Minor Pentatonic scale", but easy going and lets everyone have a good rock and a good time.
Quo are like Marmite you either like them or not. Rick Parfitt was a character who lived his life to the full and will be missed. With four heart attacks, suspected throat cancer he certainly seemed to me to be invincible!
