We had a fire in our School, round about 1964. Unfortunately The Fire Service were very efficient

It's an Academy Jo, I would be amazed if they didn't have top notch insurance.

Schools are built to burn.

Full of books, paper, cloth and wood. Often constructed mainly of wood.
Flammable crap stapled to the walls and hung from the flammable ceilings.
Curtains and blinds laying all over the place.
Computers and electrical equipment never turned off, not even for the summer break.
Electrical equipment smothered in papers, artwork, clothing, you name it.

For me the surprise is how few schools catch fire during the holidays.

Its at Selsey, close to Chichester, where I come from originally. Should think the other two schools in Chichester will have to absorb most ofl the pupils temporarily. Be quite a job, as it will take a while to rebuild.
Mind you lot of these academies seem to have the morals of property developers, so it may have been like the burning of old pubs, for financial advantage,
