The big joke about a car boot sale these days, and I get this from other people because I have never been to one, is that the sale is conducted from a table and the crap arrives in either a car or a van.

My own opinion is that in the absence of pubs petty thieves are using so called "car booters" to fence stolen goods while van loads of cheap new crap present a convenient smoke screen. Customs and Excise are of a similar opinion.

Churches hold Table Top Sales.

As you say Volty you have never been to on. Most people sell from the backs of cars, an awful lot of stuff is very good. {You can buy crap in a lot of shops}. Loads of charities make some funds this way as we hope to. It's a great way to have a clear out when you move house. As for stolen goods Police trawl them too.
