A fire at an industrial estate in Cowes has destroyed many vintage boats.

I wonder how many firefighters there are on IOW.

That's a terrible shame, an awful lot of time, work and money has gone into these boats, I would think there was loads of wood, paint, thinners etc. Loads of fire fuel it must have taken some putting out.

I would thoroughly recommend The Isle of Wight any time I absolutely love it. There is so much to see and do or not if you want a good rest.

I can suggest The Lymington to Yarmouth ferry, It's only half an hour and very calm. A nice drive down through Oxfordshire and the New Forest. A lovely trip.

Not sure if it would be a good idea to go down through the New Forest at present as there is flooding today/yesterday which has cut the rail line between Southampton and Bournmouth leaving hundreds stranded, and people are advised to not travel through the New forest by road if possible

That is also the area that I associate most with a risk of getting Lyme's Disease.
We stopped and got out the car to talk to some ponies last time, probably wouldn't be doing that next time.
I would like to stay at the Beaulieu Arms again though, it was so peaceful there.

Well as long as you go when it's not flooded and you don't want a chat with a horse and the wind is in the right direction, The New Forest is lovely.
