This is the place where Brummies used to chat about Birmingham old and new along with anything else that interests us.
We have Quizzes, Pizzas, Local History, News, Politics, Wedding Cake, Plum Pudding, Champagne, Easter Eggs and, above all, Respect for our fellow members.
I would agree with that as long as it included ex-pats who have gone to live abroad for years because it was warm and cheap (and usually fairly safe), but then when it gets a bit expensive or the locals con them out of their house, they want to come back here and expect all the benefits
There is a voluntary contribution scheme for National Insurance so that would have to be taken into account.
Also, some of the so called Ex Pats, a term I never agreed with as I thought the pat part referred to patriotism, are of pensionable age before they jump ship and therefore may have full entitlement no matter what.
Perhaps welfare should work like a PLC, we get shares in it, the more you put inthe more shares you get and benefits are paid out pro rata.
